William Charles Printing, a third-generation full-service commercial printing company located in Long Island, NY, has purchased its first Komori press, a five-color Lithrone G40 with coater (GL540C) to replace two competitive presses. After doing extensive research that included gaining advice from peer groups, the company chose the GL540C for its advanced technology that immediately translates into pressroom efficiencies.

"Our older presses were costing us so much money per month with the extra labor required and slower production capabilities, it started to make sense to look for a new press that provided the advanced capabilities we need to remain competitive," said Chris Pellegrini, president of William Charles Printing. In the end, our final decision came down to conversations with owners of other print companies who had experience with both manufacturers. If a large company, that can afford to buy any press it wanted, continues to buy Komori, it was all the assurance I needed."

Pellegrini has not been disappointed in his decision to go with Komori. In just three months since installation, the company has cut its makeready time in half and reduced staff in the pressroom from seven press operators to four, providing significant cost savings for the company.
